9 month update

The site has now been up for almost 9 months!

Website traffic continues to grow. Organic search engine traffic has really picked up steam in the past 2 months or so. At this time the search engine traffic has overtaken social media, friends & family, and word of mouth. The growth is really humbling and gratifying. I hope readers continue to enjoy the content. However, I found that I am no longer able to produce content at the same rate as before (about once per week). The pace of articles has slowed to about 2 per month.

Long time readers of the blog might also notice that I signed up for Google Adsense, so ads will now display on the site. You might not see them if you have an adblocker. This site will always be accessible, whether you use an adblocker or not. But I hope the ads are not too intrusive and I set the number of ads to be the minimum. Hosting the website costs about $200 per year. My hope is that Google Adsense will eventually help pay for some of the hosting costs. In case you’re wondering, at time of this writing, running Adsense for 1 month has yielded about 20 cents. So blogging will not make you rich, and I have a long ways to go =)

The next major milestone will be finishing the Investing 101 series of articles. I put a lot of effort into them and I really do think they provide an excellent overview of investing to beginners. The next website update will probably come in December 2021, which will be a big 1 - year anniversary of the blog. Expect a number of articles around that time, including what I’m sure will be a very interesting 2021 in review.

As always, I intentionally hide website/personal updates from the rest of the site so as to not mix them with normal articles. If you’ve found this post regardless, you have my sincerest thanks for being such a diligent and dedicated reader. Happy investing!
